1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Lire Repo Reader ("the Service") at repo.lire.live, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Lire Repo Reader is a web-based tool that retrieves publicly available source code from GitHub repositories and consolidates it into a single text file. It also provides the ability to view public GitHub user profile information. The Service acts as an intermediary client to the GitHub API.
The Service is provided free of charge and is currently in active development.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
4. Permitted Use
You may use Lire Repo Reader for lawful purposes, including:
- Reading and analyzing publicly available open-source code
- Generating consolidated context files for AI tools (e.g., large language models)
- Code review, learning, and research
- Accessing your own public or private GitHub repositories (using your PAT)
- Viewing public GitHub user profile information
5. Prohibited Use
You may not use this Service to:
- Access, download, or aggregate code from repositories you do not have permission to access
- Circumvent GitHub's Terms of Service, rate limits, or access controls
- Harvest or scrape data at scale for commercial redistribution without authorization
- Use the output to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of repository owners or contributors
- Attempt to compromise, disrupt, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service or GitHub's API
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Introduce malicious code, bots, or automated scrapers that abuse the Service or GitHub's API
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when using PAT authentication
6. GitHub API & Third-Party Terms
This Service relies on the GitHub REST API. By using Lire Repo Reader, you also agree to comply with:
Lire is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GitHub, Inc. "GitHub" is a trademark of GitHub, Inc.
7. Personal Access Tokens
If you choose to use a GitHub Personal Access Token (PAT) with the Service:
- Your PAT is stored only in your browser's local storage and is never persisted on Lire's servers.
- You are solely responsible for the security and authorized use of your PAT.
- You must not use another person's PAT or share your PAT in a way that could enable unauthorized access.
- Lire is not liable for any unauthorized use, exposure, or revocation of your PAT.
- You should revoke and regenerate your PAT immediately if you suspect it has been compromised.
8. Intellectual Property
The Lire Repo Reader application — including its design, source code, branding, and user interface — is the intellectual property of Lire and its contributors. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.
Content retrieved from GitHub repositories belongs to their respective owners and is subject to the licenses under which they are published. Lire does not claim any ownership over content fetched from GitHub.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Lire does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content retrieved via the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LIRE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
In any event, Lire's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is zero, as the Service is free).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lire and its team members from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
12. Service Availability
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
We may also impose usage limits on the Service at our discretion to maintain quality and security for all users.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
